Stepping up on the ladder to success

The NAWO NSW Quick Bite at Linfox on 23 June 2017 was booked out early to hear from two exceptional female leaders on how to  ‘Step Up on the Ladder to Success’. Thanks to Melita Bevan (Key Account Manager, CHEP Australia Ltd, and NAWO NSW Committee Member) for providing the following summary and key learnings.

Linfox was delighted to host 50 NAWO members at the fully booked Quick Bite event at its Botany site on 23 June 2017 to discuss Career Management.

The backdrop to the event is a business partnership between Linfox and Kellogg’s to seamlessly move product through supply chain from the manufacturer and into the hands of the customer.  The synergy between our two keynote speakers, Annette Carey (CEO, Linfox ANZ) and Belinda Tumbers (MD, Kellogg’s) was evident and is a terrific example of how women in powerful roles can collaborate and communicate to positively impact on business outcomes.

The theme for the day was ‘women today are in the best position ever to forge their own career paths. Could you use some inspiration to help gain momentum in managing your own career?’

Annette Carey (CEO, Linfox ANZ and NAWO Ambassador) shared her journey and how she navigated climbing her career by being a team player, taking on new opportunities and empowering people around her to succeed.

Key messages were:

  • Get out of your comfort zone and seek new experiences
  • Take a balanced approach to working
  • Find a role model and develop your own emotional awareness (always be honest, diplomatic and seek to understand first)
