International Women’s Day 2020 was celebrated in collaboration with our Gold Members BHP at their City Square office. MC’d by South Flank Project Director Simon Thomas, the event commenced with a welcome to country by Aunty Millie.
Simon’s keynote address shared the progress South Flank has made on diversity and inclusion (D&I), noting that a recent project provided significant opportunity to challenge the status quo across all areas of the organisation, not just in relation to D&I.
Attendees then enjoyed a panel discussion with Karyn Hinder (Woven), Gayle Bowness (Fluor) and Annabelle Blom (BHP) which was facilitated by Ben Cullinan (BHP). The panel touched on many areas relating to the theme of #eachforequal, including flexible work options, family friendly rosters and the challenges involved in rapidly transforming workforce compositions.
Concluding with a sundowner on Level 45 of the BHP building, the conversation continued on sharing thoughts on how all of us, as leaders in our own right can continue to push for #eachforequal everyday.
Thank you to BHP for their ongoing support of our NAWO events and hosting this memorable celebration.
