Intelligent Assets & Gender Equality Matters Co-Chair at Woodside Energy

Matthew has extensive experience in engineering, maintenance and operations management roles in the oil and gas industry, across multiple countries including New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Scotland. Matthew is currently delivering Intelligent Assets for Woodside Energy, defining the future blueprint and ways of working for the operating assets.

Matthew is passionate about gender equality and is a mentor, STEM volunteer, and the co-chair of Woodside Energy’s gender equality employee network. He has also published a book on gender equality titled “Please Don’t Tell Me To Man Up”. This book is a curation of gender equality reference material to assist people with understanding the many issues and themes related to making the world more gender equal. As well as being on the NAWO board, Matthew also volunteers with two other Not for Profit Boards.

Matthew has an Honours degree in Chemical and Process Engineering, a Bachelor of Business Studies in Economics, a Bachelor of Arts in History and English and a Master of Business Administration. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
