Born on the 15th of September 1977 in Benin City Nigeria, Cornelius has built a career spanning over 20 years in the mineral resources, consultancy, hydrogeology and banking sectors by effectively utilising organisational resources to deliver business outcomes in a competitive and rapidly evolving marketplace. He has achieved this through exceptional project management for safe outcomes tested for quality on the cultural, technical and productivity scale. He has led the delivery of a wide range of high value multimillion dollar and innovative projects in iron ore, hydrogeology, environmental geology, banking and marketing across three continents, solving for complex technical and operational problems. He has demonstrated strong leadership within and across teams with an enthusiastic and motivational style of engagement. He has an over-riding commitment to a great workplace culture that values safety, people and business outcomes; employing organisational tools and academic theories to deliver this.

Cornelius recently completed his MBA at the University of Western Australia (2019). He also has an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Liverpool, UK and a BSc in Geology from Delta State University, Nigeria.

Cornelius is currently the Manager for Geoscience Operations with Geoscience, Western Australia Iron Ore. Prior to joining BHP in 2010 as a geologist, he worked with Alchemy Resources, MWH Global UK, Valleyfield Environmental UK, Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority and NNB International Bank, Nigeria.

Cornelius is married to Franca Itotoh and they are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters – Ihinosen (12) and Eseose (10). They all love bush walking, charitable work and reading.
