Power in numbers. What can we collectively #choosetochallenge this IWD?
March 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm AWST
Join our NAWO WA Committee and member host BHP to celebrate International Women’s Day and challenge the real issues facing organisations focused achieving better gender balance.
It is our pleasure to host keynote speaker Fiona Vines, BHP’s Head of Inclusion & Diversity and Workforce Transition and an expert panel representing diversity across gender, background, company and industry. Our contributors will tackle three themes they have chosen to challenge:
2. Fixing the system: we are seeing more focus on ‘fixing the system’ rather than ‘fix the woman’, and we will discuss improvements to attraction, retention, and the work environment. But what are the barriers still preventing systemic organisational change?
3. Creating Safe Workplaces: how we can ensure that our industries are attractive for women, where they can feel safe and empowered to be the best they can be. Our panel discussion is with:
Anna Broughton, Director – NS Group
Aira Carrero, Senior Mechanical Engineer – Rio Tinto
Matthew Brierley, Manager Intelligent Assets & Gender Equality Matters Co-Chair – Woodside Energy
Cornelius Itotoh, Manager Operations – Geoscience WAIO (moderator)
The panel will be followed by lunch and a short networking session where we can discuss our own individual thoughts on how we will choose to challenge not only this International Women’s Day but everyday.
