Making it work; harnessing business acumen to drive commercial outcomes

PRELIMINARY NOTICE - Explore 'Career Management in Turbulent Times' through the lens of being strategically opportunistic with our career decision making. Discuss what this can look like from both an individual and an organisational/leader's perspective.

***Great Southern Rail, a valued partner of ARTC, has generously donated a door prize for the event. The prize is two return tickets to Melbourne in Red Premium Service on board The Overland.***

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) manages the seamless, safe transit of hundreds of freight and passenger trains across its 8,500 km rail network, covering five states, every day. Committed to being a cost efficient, reliable, safe and responsible component of the transport supply chain, the corporation has identified diversity as a key driver of its future commercial success.

How have ARTC’s senior leaders developed their commercial acumen? And how does this skill play a pivotal role in their business decision making process? Join us for a new year NAWO Quick Bite that will ignite your commercial train of thought!

Strictly limited places also available for optional tour of a Rail Grinder track machine. The rail grinder, operated by ARTC’s partner Aurizon, is vital to the continual safe and efficient operation of ARTC’s rail corridor. Its primary objective is to correct the rail head profile and maintain a good finish on the running surface of the rail. Having a good rail profile improves locomotive fuel efficiency, maximises rail and wheel life and reduces mechanical stress on the track structure.

The tour will include a guided walk-through of the track maintenance machine and a detailed understanding of how the machinery operates and contributes to the operations of ARTC’s major asset. PPE dress requirements are listed below.
