Fail More to Succeed More?

PRELIMINARY NOTICE - Explore 'Career Management in Turbulent Times' through the lens of being strategically opportunistic with our career decision making. Discuss what this can look like from both an individual and an organisational/leader's perspective.

Could this be the next step to landing your dream role?

At some point in our lives we stop jumping off ledges with a tea towel around our shoulders, as we tried to see if we could fly. The seeds of fearing failure take hold early, and for some they often rear their ugly head later in life to prevent us from taking the leap towards our next role or our making a career change. What is it about the fear of failure that is so strong? What if we could conquer this fear? What professional success could we achieve?

Come and hear from three different panellists in what will be a lively and informative debate as they discuss the fear of failure.

Dr Anna Jenkins, University of Queensland, is a Lecturer at UQ who focuses on how entrepreneurs manage setbacks and failures as they innovate.

Kristan De Sousa, Six Degrees Executive, is a Director who helps Queensland’s leading FMCG, industrial, retail and service businesses find top talent.

Craig Liddy, Dyno AP and Incitec Pivot Fertilisers, is the Vice President HR who will share his insights and lessons from life in a corporate world to life managing his own business.
