YOU WHO? Will the real you please step forward!
Bringing your true self to work takes less energy than managing a ‘work’ self and ‘outside work’ self. Makes sense. The flipside of this is finding the right workplace, one where you can be… YOU.
Too often we feel the need to change our behaviours in the workplace to fit in and embody the traits and styles of others. Yet we are more effective at work when we are authentic – true to our own beliefs, morals, values and principles.
The Diageo company name is composed of the Latin word “dia”, meaning day, and the Greek root “geo”, meaning world. It references the culture of Diageo, which is about Celebrating Life Every Day, Everywhere.
Please join NAWO at Diageo Australia for an interactive Q&A forum where some of Diageo’s early career women will question and discuss with a panel of senior Diageo executives the power of honest feedback and coaching during your career, and how Diageo focuses on strength based development.
Andrew Cummings, MD at Tip Top Bakeries will also draw on his own personal journey and experiences to explore what makes an authentic leader, and the barriers and successes that come with it.
An optional site tour of the Diageo Alcoholic Beverages Bottling & Warehouse facility will also be offered (limited places). Tour participants must wear fully enclosed shoes (steel caps preferred). Diageo will provide a safety vest, hat, hearing protection and safety glasses.
