JACKIE KRUGER

General Manager, Leeton Shire Council

Jackie commenced as General Manager of Leeton Shire Council in August 2015.

Previous to that, she was Director Planning and Community Services at Tamworth Regional Council.

Calling herself a 'tri-nations kid', Jackie has lived in New Zealand and South Africa, where she has worked across a range of government and non government organisations to champion policy change and cultural change aimed at helping rural or regional communities get ahead and stay ahead.

Jackie did an eight year stint on the 'other side' of the local government table as an elected Councillor with Invercargill City Council in NZ, with her final term as Deputy Mayor.

Jackie's formal qualifications are in natural resource management (BSc Forestry/Conservation) and a Masters in Education but, in her view, life itself always delivers the biggest lessons.

As GM of Leeton Shire Council, Jackie is responsible for ensuring that the elected Council is supported to make sound strategic and financial decisions and that her operational team is set up and properly resourced to deliver quality results.

Jackie and her husband, Graeme, love living in Leeton and are impressed by the area's agricultural, manufacturing and logistics prowess. They feel exceptionally proud to be associated with Leeton Shire and the Riverina.
