Mediator, Julia Puntoriero Law
'My interest in negotiating and influencing started when I had the ability to think.'
'Watching other adults and learning how to get my parent’s/teachers to say the mythical “yes” was something I knew was necessary, early on in life. In the beginning I used my youth and kindness and found I was catching more flies with honey.'
'Since studying Law, Politics, Economics and Mediation I am no longer kind… (joking) my experience has thankfully evolved. I now rely on my education, coupled with work/life experiences and rigorous mediation training. Every listed experience inevitably fostered and encouraged my ability to empathize, which in my mind is key to both influencing and negotiating. '
Julia has over 10 years’ experience as a solicitor initially in commercial litigation and employment disputes and during the latter years of her practice specialised in family law, property and children’s disputes.
She is a member of the following associations: Australian Mediators Association (AMA); LEADR (Association of Dispute Resolution practitioners).
Julia is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners (FDRP) and can issue Section 60(I) certificates when mediation is not appropriate, enabling the parties access to the court process. In addition, Julia is Nationally Accredited by the National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS) and registered with the Attorney Generals Office.
