Manufacturing Manager - Western Sydney Service Centre, BlueScope Steel Ltd

Kamini has had a 25 year career with BlueScope in various operational and technical roles.

She started as a Chemical Engineer, and currently leads a team of over 70 employees and contractors, comprising of Operational and Technical staff, at the latest BSL painting facility at Erskine Park NSW. In her current role, she is accountable for the Safety, Operations, Product Quality and Customer Service for the site.

Kamini previously worked in many parts of the Port Kembla Steelworks including shift work and more recently in the capacity of a Manager, including the Bulk Berth. At the Berth, she successfully managed a team of Shipping Stevedoring employees. In this role she negotiated the Enterprise Agreement with the Unions and successfully implemented a revenue raising project to load coal and iron sands.

Kamini is known for her unique style and energy to strive for results by optimising the team engagement. She is known for her consistent approach to solving people and or technical issues with a big focus on acknowledgement of individual and team contribution to achieve the desired outcome.

Her style and achievements were further recognised as she Achieved Finalist in Women in Industry Awards 2015 for Manufacturing Excellence.

Kamini is married with three children and actively works with a wide network to mentor and promote Women in Operations.
