Head of Post Office Partnerships & Channel Management, Australia Post

Makarla commenced as the Head of Post Office Partnerships & Channel Management in November 2015 with responsibility for managing Australia Post’s network of over 4,300 Post Offices. She joined Australia Post in 2010, originally as a Marketing & Product Support Officer in the Domestic Parcels business unit. Before taking on her current role, she held a number of positions within the Domestic Parcels business and the Retail business units including the management of a transformational project to standardise the Domestic Parcels consumer offer.

In her current role, Makarla is responsible for the management of a number of key external stakeholders including Union representative groups and Licensee associations. She has continuously used her strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills to deliver outcomes that provide benefits to both Australia Post as an enterprise and to individual staff and Licensees.

Makarla has also spent an extended period overseas, having lived in China, England, Scotland and Canada. She has held a diverse range of roles across a broad range of industry sectors. She is passionate about travel and this continues to be a focus for her and her fiancé, Tim.
