MARIE BOURGOIN

General Manager Newman Operations, BHP

Marie Bourgoin was appointed the General Manager of Newman Operations in May 2019.

Marie joined BHP in February 2015 after an eight year career at Rio Tinto where she held both operational, commercial/strategic and leadership positions. Since joining BHP, Marie has led Supply Chain improvement projects and focused on capacity uplift through improved supply chain interfaces and in August 2015 was given responsibility for managing Camps & Aviation assets within Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI). She was appointed GM of the Integrated Production and Remote Operations (IPRO) team in December 2015, a role she held until taking on the position of GM Newman Operations.

During her time as GM of the IPRO, Marie led a team of more than 500 employees and was responsible for revamping the integrated planning and scheduling process within iron ore to drive more value for the business through improved integration, collaboration and optimisation of the end to end iron ore supply chain. Marie was also accountable for the ROC, managing the safe remote operations of drills, plants, trail loadouts, rail, car dumpers and ship loaders. Marie has a wealth of experience and knowledge of BHP’s operations.

Marie holds a Master of Science in Business Management/Administration from the EDHEC Business School in France and studied across a number of countries including France, Australia and India.

Before beginning her position as GM of Newman Operations, Marie took parental leave. Marie and her family of 3 children have moved to Newman to be an active part of the community.
