Human Resources Manager, O-I

Marlaina is a qualified HR Practitioner (MAHRI,) with 10 years’ experience within the manufacturing, FMCG, construction & architecture sectors. Her passion about People as the main asset in an organisation is driven through building talent and engagement.

Marlaina embarked her HR career working full-time within a junior role whilst actively completing her business degree, majoring in Human Resources and Marketing. Her career progressed when a project role became available within a well-known FMCG company, (Campbell / Arnott’s) where she worked within the Change Management team to deploy the roll-out of SAP. The ‘Project Harmony’ team won the SAP/ASUG (America’s SAP User’s Group) global award for the successful management and roll-out of SAP into the organisation. Once the project had completed, Marlaina moved into other HR roles, where she acquired the foundations to HRIS, Shared Services and Advisory.

Marlaina then became involved in more senior leadership roles, where her skills progressed towards business partnering to provide a balance of strategic and operational HR solutions. Focusing on the continued ability to attract, retain, develop and maintain an engaged and committed workforce through building employee capability and the implementation of cultural change initiatives throughout a highly unionised workforce.

Her current role within OI enables her to lead the ANZ and Local Plant People Plan Initiatives that include; Enterprise Agreement bargaining, labour optimisation, ageing workforce and, more recently, the cultural shift in the wellbeing of our people.

Marlaina’s personal style is outgoing, friendly and accepting, who enjoys working with others to make things happen. She brings a common sense and a pragmatic approach to her work that makes it fun and energetic to solve the problem.
