PAUL SCOULLAR

Site Operations Manager, Deniliquin, SunRice

Paul grew up in Deniliquin, before leaving for Charles Sturt University in 1996 to study Business Management.

In 2000, he moved to Adelaide primarily to pursue sporting opportunities. He worked in electronics and kitchen manufacturing, and spent one year as a stay at home dad.

In 2006, Paul took up the position of Production Management at SunRice Deniliquin. The Rice Mill closed 2 years later, due to the ongoing drought, and he relocated to Leeton as the Rice Cakes Production Manager.

In 2011, the Deniliquin Mill reopened and he returned as Quality Manager for 3 years before moving across to the Milling Production Manager’s role for another 2 years. In 2016, Paul took up his current role of Site Manager.

As a leader, Paul believes that the most important part of his role is communicating where the business and site is heading, and how each and every person in the organisation plays a critical role. His philosophies are very strongly around teamwork and providing an environment where everyone can contribute their unique skills. He is passionate about bringing world class practices into rural manufacturing, and seeing people develop themselves and their careers regardless of their starting point.

On a personal level, Paul lives on a rice farm that is managed and run by his wife, Shelley. They have 3 boys aged 2, 10 and 11.
